Seriously playful and playfully serious. Soubrette is an operatic term which describes the highest soprano voice in a cast. Beautifully high pitched, but not a lead role, Soubrette is both angelic and fleeting.
Brian and Natalie began making wine together at the same time that they moved to the farm on Vineyard Drive in Paso Robles. These hyper small production lots are mostly sold directly from our hands to yours. Soubrette, in its fleeting and transient nature, is a way for the team to trial new vineyards and provide customers with unique winery only bottles not found anywhere else.
The Soubrette Brand is focused on Rhône varieties in Paso Robles and Santa Barbara Wine Country. Both single varietal wines and blends are showcased under this project. Certain wines are produced every vintage such as Vernacular, GSM, and Rosé, while other small bottlings show up on the tasting menu for only a few months. The Soubrette wines are fruit forward, expressive and fun.
